Love your work and your tutorials are fantastic but I have some questions.
How do I get information on things like?:
-Application used PS, Painter, Etc.
-Original size (Not uploaded but actual)
-Any add-ons used (filters etc.)
-Brushes used (I struggle with brushes)

I have been painting in adobe PS CS2 and getting used to Wacom and this is taking time to translate traditional skills to a digital environment. One thing I was hoping to learn from this site is some of the technical aspects of painting digitally. I think I must be missing something I'm sure the information is here and I am just missing it.

Anyway love your art. Fantastic tutorials and I feel like I have learned a lot about process and planning.

Thanks!

Hi there! Thanks for your comment.

I've written a small tutorial about portrait painting with a special focus on hair painting. You find it in my gallery. ;-)

In this case hair wasn't that hard - the haircut is simple. ;-) I've 2 brushes im using on hair. A simple 3px hard brush and a special hair brush by adonihs. You find the complete brush pack here: [link]

His brush pack is awesome! ;-)

Best wishes

WOW... this is great! How do you do it? Really what hardware to you use? I try to draw on the computer but it is hard to do with a mouse... Do you use one of those pen things on a tablet? Or is this just airbrushed and then scanned and edited in Photoshop?

Oh,this is wonderful! Do you use a lot of layers for this kind of painting or is most of it done on a couple?

Hey Britty,

thanks for your comment!

I'm using several layers and folder for my paintings. It makes it possible to change things very fast. Normally my structure is:

- Hair (folder)
-- several layers (depends on haircut etc.)

- Face (folder)
-- Skin hair
-- Skin pores small
-- Skin pores big
-- Shape

- Clothes (folder)
-- several layers (depends on clothes)

- Body (folder)
...layers like in face-folder...

I'm using the smudge tool (for shape) very often, so I have to exclude the skin pores and and skin hair. Otherwise I would destroy my skin structure! ;-) Furthermore I'm using a lot of layers for background and light effects.

Best wishes

I've pain in my butt almost every day - I am web developer! :D
But this is my private project and I will NOT optimize it for Internet Explorer 6! So it will take only 50% time to finish it! :D

Cheers!
