PORTRAIT:
So, here we are:
This time it's not Alessandra Ambrosio or Doutzen Kroes. It's one of my favourite guitar players - Greg Howe. Because of his versatility I cannot say exactly which genre it is. It's instrumental rock, fusion and funk I think. It's a pity that he's not so well-known like Joe Satriani or Steve Vai.


PAINTING
Painting was done in 15 hours. As you can imagine the shirt and guitar (especially the Floyd Rose [thats the vibrato system at the end of the guitar] took a lot of time) but I'm very satisfied with the result.
All done in Photoshop. Used a reference image of Greg.

I'm amazed!! the level of detail is so incredible. You didn't even forget the hairband near the nut. I've never seen a guitar (and guitarist) so well rendered in a painting. I must confess...15 hours sounds like a short time considering how much detail there is.

I suppose the Floyd was quite a nightmare lol. Just looking at them can cause headaches for several guitarists.....can't imagine what it's like to paint one :)

Your work is as awesome as this man is. Congratulations :)

Huch? Jemand mit gutem Musikgeschmack!? ;-)
Also bei Vai ist das so ne Sache... ich finde einige seiner Lieder g.e.n.i.a.l. z.B. "OOOO", "The Blood and Tears", "Building the church" oder natürlich auch "For the love of god". Aber ein richtiger Vai-Fan bin ich nicht. Dann eher Satriani (ich hab sein Ibanez Signature-Modell :D - dann muss man ihn ja irgendwie mögen), obwohl ich den auch mittlerweile weniger höre. Die letzten Alben waren nicht mehr so innovativ. Dann eher Andy Timmons, Neal Schon (Gitarrist von Journey), Mark Knopfler, John Mayer, Richie Kotzen, Rodrigo y Gabriela und Steve Lukather von Toto. ...und so viele andere aus allen Stilrichtungen... :-)

Zupfste selber die Seiten an der Gitarre? ;-)

Cool, endlich mal wieder ein Musikfreak wie ich ! :D lach Ja, ich spiele und komponiere schon lange, bin aber sehr kritisch mir selbst gegenüber, aber was soll man machen ? Meine Mucke kannste bei Bedarf hier anhören [link]

Okay, freut mich dass du auch Steve Lukather und Satch magst, die haben einen tollen Sinn für epische Melodien, aber meine eigene Liste sehe etwas anders aus:
1- Devin Townsend (Alleskönner)
2- Frank Zappa (Legende !)
3- Allan Holdswoth (Fusionmeister !)
4- Ron Jarzombek (Steve Vai und Disney inspiriert)
5- Muhammed Suiçmez (sehr schneller, aber sauber gespielter Death Metal, ich hab sowas noch nie vorher gehört)
- vielleicht Shawn Lane, aber der ist mir zu perfect :D
- und Jun Senoue, kennt niemand, aber der hat den genialen Soundtrack zu Sonic von Sega geschrieben

Liste erstellen macht immer Spaß ^^
